Brad Burnside – CEO, Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board
Brad has thrived on forward-looking endeavors since he was a teenager, when he created his city’s first “progressive rock” FM radio station in 1971. His career on the leading edge of video retailing began with a small storefront and just 100 movies. By 1987, his three-store chain Video Adventure was ranked by revenue among the top 100 video rental operations in North America. He helped to conceive and launch Home Vision/PMI Home Video, a leading distributor of foreign and fine arts programs. Brad was inducted into the Merchandising Hall of Fame in 1990 and named Retailer of the Year for 1991 by the major motion picture studios. He also served on the board of the Video Software Dealers Association from 1986 to 1994, and was president of this international trade group for the 1992-93 association year.
Kathryn Ware – Manager, Content Development
Kathryn holds an MFA in Television and Film Production and a BA in Psychology from Northwestern University. While earning her Master’s degree, she was a Store Manager for the Video Adventure retail chain from 1988 to 1992, during which time she estimates having seen 1001 films. Kathryn was also an Instructor in TV production at Northwestern University and served as Assistant to the V.P. of Development at WTTW Chicago Public Television. As Sourcelight’s first employee, Kathryn is passionate about bringing film discovery to the world.
